UiaML Symbol

Image

UiaML Core Properties

RefPageID

String

Name of a PageID somewhere within the same site.

Explanation

Sitemaps intent to become very crowded and the boundaries of the paper that is used to document the sitemap might be reach quickly. On the other hand modeling a complete site on a single paper also might not always be a good solution, because the focus on related pages and contentareas might get lost. Modeling each UML Use Case on a single sitemap will improve readablitily of the documentation.

Several sitemaps with the same sitemap identifier represents only a fraction of a single sitemap. Linking pages on different sitemap fractions together would require to draw links between those sitemaps. That however isn't a solution and might also require that we draw lines between different pages in a printed document.

The Refence Page symbol enables us to link related pages on different sitemap fractions. The RefPageID of the Refence Page symbol must correspond with the PageID of a page within the same sitemap.

Since the Reference Page symbol represents a page somewhere else within the sitemap, links may only point toward the Reference Page symbol; they may not originate from it.
